THE STORY OF A MAN
The work of a lifetime.
Behind every sunrise over the ocean, every shared smile and every memory created at La Taverne Bassamoise lies the story of a man who devoted much of his life to building this place with passion, courage and generosity.
This page is dedicated to our father
André Henri Robert TAMBON.

The man behind La Taverne Bassamoise
André Tambon
Founder of La Taverne Bassamoise, André Tambon grew up in the world of hospitality. From an early age, he discovered this profession and the values of warmth, service and genuine hospitality that define it.
After settling in Côte d'Ivoire, he chose to forge his own path and devote himself to a project that truly reflected his vision.
In 1962, he founded La Taverne Bassamoise in Grand-Bassam.
This place became the work of a lifetime. Built with determination and passion, it grew over the years into a welcoming destination for generations of travelers, families and friends.
André Tambon passed away on October 23, 2024, sixty years after the founding of La Taverne Bassamoise.
Today, his work lives on. It endures through the history of this establishment, in the memories of those who knew him, and in every new moment shared within the place he imagined.
We are proud to preserve what he created and to continue the story he began.
